How to make mini dreamcatchers

How to make mini dreamcatchers

How to make mini dreamcatchers by demigod-tip-girls on Polyvore

 BEFORE I START, those numbered pictures will help you a lot. Describing how to make a dreamcatcher is pretty hard.

ALSO: Please note that this is for a mini dreamcatcher and it'll be pretty small.

Hopefully the tip will make up for the terrible set.

~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~
Materials:
An old bangle or some wire
string
fake feathers
scissors
glue
beads
STEP 1 1/2) If you're using wire, make a circle of wire. Make sure that it goes around twice (so it's two circles of wire on top of each other), rather than once. Cut the wire (careful!) and twist the ends together.
STEP 1) Cut about 6 feet of string for your dreamcatcher. If it's larger, use more string. It's better to have too much string than not enough. Tie a slip knot around your bangle/wire hoop.
STEP 2) This is the hard part. The stitch. Refer to the 3rd and 4th pictures if you need help.
Loop the string around the bangle about 3 inches from where you started. It will make a hole. Go through the hole from the top. Repeat this step four or five times until it looks like the 5th picture.
STEP 3) Keep repeating the step, but this time in the middle of the stiches you just made. Keep moving inward. If you'd like beads within the web, do the stitch normally, but string on a bead.
STEP 4) Continue the stitch until you can't do it anymore. Thread on a bead, then tie it down on a nearby stitch. Cut off excess string.
STEP 5) Cut more string of various lengths. Thread on as many beads as you like. If you want them to be in specific spots, glue them there. Tie the string to the feathers.
STEP 6) Once you've decorated the strings to how you like, tie them onto the bangle/wire hoop. Put the shorter ones on the sides and the longer ones toward the middle.
And there you go!
 - Parents. ☆
Your biggest source of getting some cash! Ask them about allowance, yard work, chores, food shopping and other help and they might be able to give you some cash.
- Neighbors. ☆
Do you have neighbors? Ask them if you could mow their lawn, walk their dog, or plant some flowers. Over the summer a lot of people are working so they might not be able to do all the things that they want to do so, ask them if they need a hand and charge a certain price per hour. { Check with your parents for rates. }
- Babysitting. ☆
Talk to your parents about becoming CPR certified and getting a certificate. When you do you can earn LOTS of money! Set up signs in shoprite and around town and trust me, you will get customers! { My old babysitter got paid $50 to watch me for a few hours, imagine what you could earn in two weeks! }
- Food Sales. ☆
Lemonade, baking, cookies, ice cream, candy, and any other goodies will reel people on in the hot summer! * Make everything homemade and sell them in little bags with tags. People will want more and more. Take your time and have your parents help you with more food ideas. Also, get a popular place where everyone will pass by but, get permission first!
Simple ones can only take half an hour! Sell them around school and to your friends for a few dollars. Make sure to take your time when making them and add beads // metallic string to make them more custom and appealing!
- Ebay // Garage Sales // Craigslist. ☆
SELL< SELL < SELL! One day, go through your whole room and find the stuff you don't want or need. Make sure that other people would want it too. { No holes, stains, tears, scratches } Also, when selling clothes wash them before selling! *
Then find a site and sell away!
- Car washes. ☆
All you need is a hose, soap, car wax, and some friends. Set up sign with prices a week before and have fun! Make sure your customers are happy and get a cleaned car!
You can go to Micheal's Craft Store and pick up some jewelry craft supplies. Then, create an account and start selling! It could be a blast! (:
Herringbone nails!
Herringbone nails!
Herringbone nails! by amazingtipgirls featuring a nail lacquer
 O1.Take a section of nail strips from the Sally Hansen Hard as Nails French Manicure kit and cut them in half long ways. You can also do this with tape, but I like using these because they’re pre-cut and fit together perfectly. It would be hard to get this precise with DIY nail stickers, but you can try!
O2Next, cut those two in half short ways (following the lines of the nail strips). This will give you four sections of nail strips as seen in photo 2.
O3.Paint those four sections of nail strips any color you want!
O4. Now you’ll start laying them down in the traditional herringbone pattern (see image).
O5. Lay down the next set just above that. You want to overlap a little like I did with the gold in photo 5.
O6. Keep going til you reach the top. Take a clean paintbrush and push the sides down. Go around the entire perimeter of the nail.
O7. Use your cuticle nippers to clean up the excess.
O8. Add a quick drying clear coat.
And your done!
 O1Tea bags aren’t very big, so you can’t cover a lot of sunburned skin with individual bags. Take 8-12 BLACK TEA bags, cut the strings in the middle + tie them all together.
O2. Soak them in black tea concentrate. (Concentrate: add 6-8 tea bags in 1 cup of boiling hot water and let steep for 3-5 minutes. Pour this concentrate into a jar and let it cool to about lukewarm and then add your tied tea bags to the jar. Let those sit for another 2-3 minutes.)
O3. Fan the tea bags out on your shoulders, face, back, wherever it stings the most. Personally, I prefer that the tea bags not be hot or cold but room temp to lukewarm.
O4. If you’re skin is extra sensitive from the burn, put the tea bags in a soft t-shirt that you’re willing to ruin. Dip the t-shirt in the concentrate.
O5. Leave the tea bags/t-shirt on the skin until you feel it has soaked up the majority of the moisture from the bags/t-shirt. Do these compresses over and over until the pain dissipates (typically 5-10 compresses will do the trick) and take an aspirin to keep inflammation down.
 What you need;
Parcel string. (The thin one, the thick string will be just too much. You can also get it in like a candy cane design.)
Colouring pens.
--
What to do:
O1. Cut three lengths of string, enough to go around your wrist, once or twice, however many times you want.
O2. Tie them together at one side, then tape onto something solid, like a table etc.
O3. Begin braiding the string and if you want you can add beads and charms.
O4. Once you're done braiding, tie it at the other end to secure it.
O5. If you get the plain string, i recommend colouring it in. Even though it looks great without, you have loads, why not colour it in? :L
There you are!
To tie it i wrapped another piece of string around both ends and tied it three times. But you can add loops to the end of it, if its easier.
Have fun!
